In the Artist's Way, Julia Cameron prescribes journaling, specifically 3 hand written pages a day to nurture your inner artist. Writing down your thoughts gives you a chance or organize them and get perspective.
Journaling daily helps to foster mindfulness. I often write prayers for people and circumstances. Since it's just me and God, I can tell Him like I see it. Like David, I share my heart and the Lord leads me to sound decisions... most of the time. We can be hard-headed followers.
